Weekly Wears

Since I didn't really have anyone available to take my picture, and I have yet to read the manual to my camera to figure out how to set the timer, and my self taken self portraits are kind of scary, I did my outfit in pieces. It is a bit haphazard but it will have to work for now. At least I am sparing you the self taken portraits where I look like someone is about to mug me or ones where I am sure I have more chins then a normal person is supposed to have. :)

Dress: ModCloth (I got in fall when they had a big clearance type sale) It is real light and airy, the perfect dress to pile on layers with.
Sweater: Target (not on clearance but how could I pass up on such a lovely mustard yellow)
Belt: Local thrift store. (you will get used to seeing this belt since it is my all time favorite and I pretty much wear it with all my outfits)
Slippers: These Mukluks were a Black Friday treat for myself from Yonkers

Happy 3rd Birthday My Little Rae

Three years ago today I welcomed a sweet little baby girl into this world. It really seems like it was just yesterday. She was tiny and gave us some scares since she was born prematurely, but she quickly grew stronger and along with that a little attitude all her own. She is a girly girl, a snuggler, and an extreme drama queen. She keeps me on my toes and may or may not be the cause to some of the newly sprouting grey hairs. I am thankful every day that she is mine (well maybe not the days she is throwing a fit on the floor at Target). My heart melts every time I hear her voice say "Waits a me". Three years ago today I was blessed with my precious little girl and I am so thankful for and I look forward to continually watch her grow.

This is the most common Rae Rae face.

I love you Raelyn Kristina!!! Happy 3rd Birthday.

Christmas 2011 Recap

Well Christmas has come and gone again. I can never get over how fast the holidays come and go. When you are a kid is seems like it takes ages for the holiday season to start, and even longer for Christmas day to come. Now is seems like all I have to do is blink and it is gone. We had a pretty good Christmas this year, if I do say so myself. It was pretty busy and we were a bit under the weather for some of it but all together it was very enjoyable. The kids got way to many toys and ate tons of sugar. We celebrated my only nieces' very first Christmas and got to spend a lot of quality family time with lots of relatives, and before we know it we will be doing it all over again. :)

Kain was entranced watching Grandpa trying his hand at MonkeyBall.
My hubby loves me so much he got me my dream camera!!! I now have no excuse not to post pics.
One of the other wonderful gifts I received this year. I have been loving this ever since the lovely Elsie from A Beautiful Mess, http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com, announced that she had designed this for ModCloth.

And of course I had to put my new camera to good use by taking some pictures of the fuzzies. No editing done on these. (I just love that it looks like Mana has two different color eyes. She doesn't really)

The boys just look so regal. I love the holidays and we had a lot of fun and memories were made, but I am definitely enjoying this getting back to normal.

An Old but Good Weekly Wears

So I have wanted to start doing a weekly wears post, an excuse to wear something other then yoga wear around the house. I took these later fall but never actually posted. It is one of my favorite outfits and I don't want it to feel left out. Also please for give the terrible picture taking and quality. I am not very good at taking self portraits and my camera was terribly old.

Dress and Shoes: Treasures from the local Goodwill
Belt: Local Thrift Store
Cardigan and Tights: Target Clearance
Cowl: an Anniversary gift from a friend, American Eagle

As you will soon see I do a good chunk of my shopping at Goodwill, Thrift Stores, and Clearance Racks

The Creations of 2011

I tried really hard to take time for making some things that I had on my "I would love to make this some time" list. I had a big thing for wreaths so I ended up making a lot of them.
This is a stained coffee filter wreath I made for our bedroom. It was super easy and I love the way it ended up looking. I got the wreath base from the dollar store,  used two packs of filters and I got the ribbon and lace on clearence at Jo Ann Fabrics. So it maybe cost a total of 10 bucks. So pretty satisfied with that.
When I saw the pattern for this on the Lion Brand website I just had to make it for Halloween. I definitely had all the stuff I needed for this lovely laying around the house.
I made these wreathes for a contest through Ruche. I love Ruche and during the month of November they had a fun contest along with there fun Holiday DIY Lookbook. (I loved every last thing in that look book and only wish I had enough time to make every last idea in it.) Unfortunately I didn't win but you can see this picture on their blog here http://shopruche.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

I also did up some custom ornaments for my trio of Kitties. I have not been happy with the cat ornaments you can buy at the store, and since everyone in my family needs to get a Christmas ornament I had to take matters into my own hands.
So here is Mana
Kyo and...
Haru

So these are a few of the things that I was lucky enough to get done this past year. I am looking forward to all the fun new things that I can make in 2012.

Some More New Goodies

Here are some more of the new dolls that will be available ..... NEXT WEEK.

Here is the last Final Fantasy Hoodies, but definitely be on a look out for some color variations and special edition dolls.
Here are the holiday Sparkle Dangos. Unfortunately you can't even tell that they are sparkly but take my word for it they are, and they are super cute!!
Things are real busy around here with me getting ready to start posting the new dolls, but really I enjoy making all the new designs. I plan on making more time for the blog and adding more family, craft and what not to it. I follow a lot of blogs and I love the Weekly Wears posts. I am not that stylish but I do have a style that is pretty unique (at least when I am not lazy and spend my days in yoga pants and sweat shirts). So I think every Wednesday I will be doing a weekly wears post. Just remember I have a pretty crappy camera that only seems to take good pics outside, and I am not very good at photographing myself. Either way it should be fun. Happy Monday All. :)
